Do I have to be an expert to be apply to be a guest?
Not necessarily. Of course we want to hear from people with experience, but sometimes those with years of experience are the most entrenched in their views and ideas. Fresh minds bring fresh perspectives.
What distinguishes this podcast from other hypnosis podcasts?
We hope that this podcast differs from others for a number of reasons. Firstly, A great many other podcasts are vehicles for self promotion whereas this one has no affiliation to any training school or one particular methodology. It does still actively promote the UK Hypnosis Convention because of it’s historical ties.
Can anyone apply?
Yes. We do not want the podcast or group to become an echo chamber. Anyone can apply and everyone will be given fair consideration. It does not mean everyone will be deemed suitable, but we do want to encourage alternative and occasionally contentious view points.
How will the shows be recorded?
Whenever and wherever possible, we are hoping to record both video and audio for every podcast. Earlier recordings will take place on Zoom.
Are any topics off the table?
As a rule NO. However there may be times where it may be deemed appropriate to censor guests. Please be mindful that this is a podcast about hypnosis, the mind and self-development, not politics.
As a guest can I promote my own training school and services?
Of course you can promote your services and any training you may offer. However, the primary purpose of both the group and the podcast are to facilitate open, honest discussion and mature debate about hypnosis and other related topics. If a marketing strategy is to be dismissive of other schools of thinking, the host may play devils advocate – so know your stuff.
How long with the interviews take?
We want to give people a fair crack of the whip so will aim for every guest to be given at least 30-40 minutes conversation time. In the event of the conversation drying up, We will double up on guests in certain podcasts.
As a guest what will I need?
A quiet place. A decent mic. A set of headphones. No interruptions. And something to say.
