About Gary

Gary describes himself as – Big, ugly, talk the talk, yet walk the walk. A bully’s worst nightmare, a geek who can look after himself. Often termed the credible hulk as I back up my rage with facts and figures, letting data talk for itself. Ex-professional sportsman within combat sports, won quite a bit, still going, 47 years after I started, despite now having prosthetics in my leg. PhD student, parent discipline medical sociology, involving the brain as a basis of behaviour and sport policy. Hypnotherapist, behavioural change worker, therapist, coach, mentor, developer of online training and courses. Regular guest and contracted lecturer at University to sports psychologists, sports science, and sports management students. Neurodiverse and ADHD – who’d have guessed. Wanting to drive professionalism over unprofessionalism. Not a fan of wasted time. Have a husky who I used to race ultramarathons, with and a new labrador pup. Want to be the best at everything I do, happy in the knowledge I never will be, but that isn’t going to stop me trying. Love humour, especially puns, and bad, really bad, dad jokes.
